Michael Prepsky is a Phoenix based ceramic artist who’s worked with Earth’s materials for more than 40 years.  Raised in Indiana, Mike received his undergraduate and masters degree from Indiana State University, where he flourished under the mentorship of Dick Hay. In 1980, Michael received a Masters of Fine Arts in Ceramics at Arizona State University and continued teaching with the Phoenix Union district, South Mountain High School.  In 1985, the Phoenix Union High School District started the Arts “Magnet” program, an education program designed to sustain critical arts education in the visual and performing arts.  As chair and teacher at South Mountain High School, Mike played a key role in the development of the “Magnet” program and it’s subsequent success. Since his retirement in 2007, Michael has continued to evolve his practice into a large thematic body of inspired work.
